CONCEPT SUMMARY

This portolan map was more than a mere map. Being made from a parchment, it once served as a map encouraging someone to explore the world. Later after when the map was not in use, it turned into a book cover, thanks to the durability of the material. We wanted to share this life story of the map in an interesting way. 

Our concept is similar to Escape room game. Visitors have to solve riddles about the map to exit the exhibition space. Once visitors enter the exhibition space, a movie with hints and riddles about the map's life is played. The visitors can solve the riddles by using buttons attached to the wall.
